The
modern layered hairstyles carry to long, medium, and short hair, and any length
of hair can get layers added to it because layers do not take away from a
hairstyle but are meant to add to it. Texture, volume, and flexibility are the
main reasons why hair is layered, and layers can make hair styling simple and
quick (which is why many women find them attractive). The types of hairstyles
that you can add layers to include the bob cut (long, medium, or short), the
shag, the emo cut, the Rachel, the Dido flip, and the scene cut. Layers can
also be simply added to a regular trim, or a straight cut, so you can add
layers to your own personalized style. Some hairstyles have an asymmetrical cut
(uneven) and the layers added to these styles do not have to be even or
straight, so having choppy layers will add to the uneven look.
To
get layers it is better to see to a professional stylist because they are
trained how to cut them to look symmetric. The method used is that the stylist
will take sections of the hair vertically, making it upright from the head, and
cutting the end of the hair straight across. If you do decide to cut your own
layers at home, then you will need some professional scissors to get the job
done. Wash your hair and keep it wet (but not dripping) through the process,
and there are two ways you can achieve layers while cutting by yourself. First,
you can flip your head over comb it out, and then cut straight across, which
doing this will cause three layers in your hair (the top one shorter and the
last layer longer). The other method is to brush your hair into a high
ponytail, then comb the ponytail and hold the ends and cut straight across.
